Home Visit
Hands-on help, in the heart of your home
2 hours | Birth to 12 months | $485
Baby struggling to sleep or settle? Sometimes advice isn't enough. You need someone calm and experienced in your own home to find a solution that works for you and your household.
In-person guidance, built around your baby and your space
Reading about a technique is one thing. Doing it when you’re exhausted, in your own home, with your own baby, is something else entirely. This two-hour visit is the most immersive support on offer — I observe your baby in their natural environment, help you read their cues in real time, and guide you through responsive settling techniques as opportunities arise naturally.
Rather than prescribing a plan from the outside, we build one together, shaped by what I see in your space and what you tell me about your family. You’ll finish the visit with a clear plan and the hands-on experience of having actually done it, not just heard about it.
What we work through
Every home visit is shaped by what’s actually happening in your household. These are the areas we’ll typically cover, in whatever order makes sense for your baby and your day.
Understanding your baby’s cues and nervous system responses
Adjusting sleep rhythms and daily routines to better suit your baby’s needs
Practising responsive settling techniques in real time, as opportunities arise naturally
Reviewing your baby’s sleep environment and making practical adjustments
Building a plan that fits your home, your baby, and your family — no rigid schedules
Ideal for
The home visit is particularly powerful in certain situations. You might recognise yourself in one (or several) of these.
Families who’ve tried making changes alone and found it difficult to follow through
Visual or hands-on learners who benefit from being shown, not just told
Parents who are feeling overwhelmed and need someone calm beside them
Anyone who wants a plan shaped around their actual environment, not a generic one

Frequently asked questions
-
As my service is predominantly provided in the family home, I have an opportunity to assess the sleep space and support you to implement strategies in your own familiar surroundings. There is less disruption to the family, and strategies can continue consistently without having to adjust to an unfamiliar place.
-
My approach is flexible and methods are discussed with your and your family before making decisions. My approach is flexible, responsive, and always tailored to your baby and your family. It is informed by the Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) framework and aligns with the principles of the Possums approach, while also integrating temperament, sensory processing, and practical settling strategies. At the same time, many families come to me wanting more individualised, practical support; while the Possums philosophy is deeply reassuring, some parents are looking for clearer, personalised strategies to gently improve sleep , without compromising attachment or responsiveness. Together, we explore the “why” behind your baby’s sleep challenges and identify clear, manageable steps that support connection and responsiveness. I don’t use controlled crying or cry-it-out methods, my focus is helping your baby feel safe and secure so sleep becomes easier.

Home visits are available across Melbourne. Please be aware that there is a $50 surcharge outside a 10km radius of Parkville.
-
It’s helpful if a nap falls during our time together, but not essential. Even if your baby is wide awake the whole visit, I can observe their cues and build a clear plan with you.
-
Nothing special — your normal setup is ideal. A cup of tea for you wouldn’t go astray.
-
If a natural opportunity arises, yes — we’ll work through it together in real time. I won’t engineer a settling scenario; everything is baby-led and responsive.
-
Yes, and it’s often a great idea. If they can’t make it, the written summary will make sure they’re fully across the plan.
-
You won’t be the first, and you don’t need to hold it together. The home visit is a safe space. I will be able to refer you to other services, if I see you need them.

A 30-minute follow-up phone call is included within the first month after your visit, and families are welcome to email with any questions that arise. Most families find that one visit provides the guidance they need, but additional support is available if needed — a follow-up home visit or phone consultation can be arranged at an additional cost.
